On January 25, 2012, members and recruits met in the Big 12 room of theUnionfor a professional meeting. Seaboard Foods gave a presentation to Sigma Alpha on behavioral interviews along with tips of what to expect for resumes and other job related activities. Katie Young, Seaboard Foods recruiter, explained what traits she looks for in a typical resume, such as length, and detailed descriptions of recent jobs or leadership activities. Katie gave members and idea of what to expect in an interview and what to do or not to do. Interviews for Sigma Alpha recruits will be coming up on Friday, January 27, and the recruits in attendance of tonight’s meeting should have a better idea of what to expect when interviewing. My best piece of advice, being a previous recruit last fall is, don’t worry, it’s not as bad as you think, just be you and let all of us see who you are and what you’re about! Following the Sigma Alpha Professional meeting was an optional dinner at La Fiesta, for the chapter, recruits were also welcome to attend. Overall the dinner allowed everyone to discuss how their semesters were going thus far, and relieve stress upon everyone’s shoulders. Thursday evening, will be bowling at 6:30 which has changed from the Union to Little Apple Lanes next to the Clarion Hotel inManhattan. I hope that all of you can attend and that you are just as excited as I am for interviews on Friday evening!
