Working, Volunteering, and Having Fun!

This summer Bridget will continue working part-time at K-Mart and spending time at home with her family. Well that is what she thought all her summer would be until she picked up opportunity and ran with it.

In June Bridget had the opportunity to help with the Kansas State FFA Convention where she talked about her major within the College of Agriculture to FFA members.

After convention concluded Bridget started volunteering at the Hope Ranch and Therapeutic Riding Center. Hope Ranch uses horses to provide activities and therapy to those who have physical, emotional or developmental challenges.

“This allowed me to two things I love, help people in need while at the same time learning a lot more about the equine industry,” Bridget says.

As if those activities weren’t enough, Bridget also began working at Purple Wave Auction as a temporary/part-time marketing administrative assistant. This position has allowed her to learn more about the equipment side of agriculture.

To wrap things up this summer, she attended Agricultural Media Summit the first week of August in Albuquerque, NM as part of Kansas State’s Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow student organization.

She says her summer has been one to remember and she enjoyed every minute of it!

See you soon Bridget!

In Sisterhood,

Casey Droddy
