This year I joined the Kansas State University soil judging team. Being an agronomy student I have always been very interested in soils but I never imagined just how much there was to learn about them. I had the opportunity to travel to Grand Rapids, Minnesota to participate in the Regional Soil Judging Competition. I learned so much and got to see so many amazing organic soils which I have never seen before in my life. The most amazing part I thought was getting to know other K-State students that were on my team because all of them came from different states and it was really amazing to learn about their experiences and what lead them to come to K-State. Being involved is such a great feeling and it is even more amazing because while we have so much fun we are also learning so much! I am so glad that I decided to get involved and join the soil judging team this year! Getting involved is the best way to meet new people with the same passions you have.
